I was in a surf shop on the weekend looking at $100 billabong jumpers thinking “surely Ele could make this”. So I came up with this idea of having a website which sold material and patterns for hip clothing. The idea being that it partners with big companies like Billabong – cutting out their manufacturing and retail costs.
You can start with small independant labels and build up from there.
The sales pitch for Billabong et al is that they sell SOMETHING to the people that can’t afford a Billabong jumper, so they’re opening up new markets.
The sales pitch to customers is more for the mums and dads of kids who want cool clothes but they can’t afford to buy them ($100 a pop!!!).
